Juventus Eye Simone Inzaghi as Potential Successor to Spalletti for 2027–28 Season

Juventus Eye Simone Inzaghi as Potential Successor to Spalletti for 2027–28 Season

Simone Inzaghi has reportedly emerged as a leading candidate to take charge of Juventus for the 2027–28 season, potentially replacing Luciano Spalletti. The former Inter Milan and Lazio coach, who currently manages Al Hilal, is attracting attention as Juventus consider their long-term plans. Although no appointment has been confirmed, the possibility of bringing Inzaghi to Turin has added another dimension to the club’s managerial situation.

Spalletti is facing increasing pressure following an inconsistent start to the Serie A campaign. Juventus have collected 11 points from their opening seven matches, recording three wins, two draws and two defeats. Despite these results, the club’s hierarchy remains reluctant to make an immediate managerial change. Spalletti’s contract runs until 2028, but his future could become uncertain if the team fails to improve over the coming months.

Several other managers have reportedly been considered as possible alternatives should Juventus decide to act before the end of the season. Stefano Pioli and Antonio Conte are among the names mentioned as potential short-term options. However, the club could pursue a different strategy if Spalletti fails to secure qualification for the Champions League, with a longer-term appointment potentially becoming the preferred approach.

Inzaghi stands out because of his experience in top-level European football and his proven ability to develop competitive teams. During his time at Inter Milan, he guided the Italian side to the Serie A title in the 2023–24 season. He also won the Coppa Italia twice and the Supercoppa Italiana three times, establishing an impressive record in domestic competitions.

His achievements in Europe further strengthen his reputation, having led Inter to the Champions League final in both 2023 and 2025. Juventus could view his tactical approach and experience as valuable assets in their efforts to return to the top of Italian football. Nevertheless, his potential arrival remains dependent on future developments, including Spalletti’s results and the club’s eventual decision on its managerial direction.
